Writing a blurb about yourself
July 16, 2009
Every now and again I have to write a brief blurb about myself. I find this a humourous but also sort of dangerous or somewhat arbitrary task. How do you go about doing it? Here’s my latest “effort”:
Andrew studies and teaches the Christian faith full time and also likes surfing, camping, good conversations, and being underwater.
Maybe the key is to not think too much about it.

I’ve been tempted a few times to just copy and paste someone else’s! I wonder if anyone would notice
I’m with you mate. Have no idea what to write. Will have to talk to Clare about it tonight to make sure I don’t write anything stupid.
I thought you’d start with “Andrew is a published author who…”
Very funny Anton:)
I’d love to do it by listing the names of people I’ve known, you know, to locate myself socially, with definitive experiences thrown in, like, ‘he once stubbed his toe so badly it bled everywhere’. Or alternately ‘has no grasp of the narrative of his life’
You have perfectly captured the brief part of the brief blurb. well done.
its horrible isn’t it? it used to drive me nuts when i would have to do this when i was giving concerts

Andrew studies and teaches the Christian faith full time and also likes surfing, camping, good conversations, and being underwater. But each of them in moderation.
